There are a variety of dental emergencies that require more immediate attention. The general rule: if you are in pain, you should make an appointment. Frequently Asked Questions about Emergency Dental Services
A lost tooth is one of the most severe dental emergencies. Make an appointment immediately in order to improve the chances that your tooth can be saved.
Place the tooth back in it’s socket if you are able to do so without touching the root. If the root is damaged in any way, it may be impossible for an emergency dentist to place the tooth back in. If you are not able to keep the tooth in it’s socket, store it between your cheek and gum, or place it in a glass of milk.
Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to your face. Go to the dentist immediately. If you still have the chip from your tooth, wrap it with a wet towel and bring it to your dentist.
Even if you only see a small chip or crack in your tooth, the damage may run into the pulp and nerve tissue, which can cause permanent damage if left for too long. Schedule an emergency dental appointment to relieve your pain and receive piece of mind regarding your dental health.
Toothaches may be occurring for a number of reasons, and an emergency dentist near you will be your most valuable asset in figuring out the cause. If your toothache is causing you pain or discomfort, see a dentist immediately.
